Favorite Snorkeling Spots at the 3 Gilis
1. Fish & Coral Spot – Gili Air
The fish spot at Gili Air is one of the most amazing. You’ll find a variety of colorful and uniquely shaped fish species. You can even feed the fish with sliced bread — don’t worry, they’re friendly and accustomed to humans!
You’ll encounter many different species, including ornamental fish you usually see in aquariums, surrounding and swimming around you. Don’t forget to bring a piece of bread to attract them while you swim.
2. Underwater Statue Spot – Gili Meno
This spot features 48 underwater human statues created by world-famous artist Jason Decaires Taylor. It has become Gili Meno’s newest and most iconic snorkeling site. According to Republika, the number of visitors has sharply increased, reaching up to 3.2 million tourists, both domestic and international, since the statues were unveiled.
3. Turtle Spot – Gili Trawangan
After snorkeling at Gili Air and Gili Meno, we’ll take you to the next spot — the Turtle Spot at Gili Trawangan, located about 2 meters below the surface. Here, you can see large sea turtles in their natural habitat. This area is also a popular diving site for divers studying the turtle ecosystem.
You’re welcome to take pictures as much as you like, but please do not touch the turtles to avoid disturbing their habitat and ecosystem.
After snorkeling at the three Gilis, we’ll stop at Gili Trawangan, where you can enjoy the island’s beauty — clean white sand and fresh, pollution-free air (no cars or motorbikes are allowed here). You can explore the island by cidomo/andong (horse-drawn cart) or bicycle (own expense). After enjoying your time, we’ll take you back to Teluk Nara Harbor.
